We want you to join the BC ABA Board!

BC ABA is looking for individuals to join the board of directors for the 2021-2023 term!

If you or a friend would like to get involved with BC-ABA, network with your colleagues and help build our behaviour analysis community in British Columbia, then now is the time!

We are looking for individuals who are interested in fulfilling the following purposes of the BC-ABA:

  • To function in British Columbia, Canada, as the liaison with, and representative of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).
  • To advance behaviour analysis in the province of British Columbia. BC-ABA’s interests lie in basic science focusing on principles governing human and nonhuman behaviour (i.e., the experimental analysis of behaviour) as well as applied science focusing on application of those principles for improvement of socially important problems (applied behaviour analysis), and disseminating this information to stimulate interest in and correct misunderstandings of behaviour analysis in the general public.
  • To work towards the regulation of behaviour analysis practitioners in British Columbia.

An Exciting Opportunity!

BC-ABA is getting ready for the annual elections, but before we do our call for nominations, we wanted to let you know of an exciting and important opportunity to join the Board of Directors! We are looking for someone to fill the position of Treasurer beginning January 11, 2021.

If you are an organized, diligent person who likes to handle money, nerd out on financial statements and make recommendations to the board on how to save and spend, then you are the perfect fit!

We are accepting nominations for this position from now until November 27, 2020.

This is a special election! Members will be able to vote on the potential candidates for the position from December 1 – 31, 2020
(so make sure you have a valid membership so you can VOTE!)

2017 Student Alliance Elections

Are you a student of behaviour analysis in BC? Are you passionate about sharing your love for behaviour analysis with others?

If so, you may consider joining the BC-ABA Student Alliance!

We are currently seeking representatives from Behaviour Analytic programs at in BC (UBC, Douglas College, Capilano University) and one representative from a Distance Education program who resides in BC.

As a member of the student alliance, you will meet monthly with other behaviour analysis students and a rotating board member from BC-ABA to create resources, address concerns, and plan events that would be useful for students of behaviour analysis in BC.

In order to apply, you need to fill in the 2017 Candidacy Form, complete with the signature from a reference to confirm your enrollment, and submit to studentrep@bc-aba.org by October 24th, 2016. Elections will take place from November 1st – 8th, 2016.
