Register Now! The BC-ABA is hosting an in-person and online workshop on Business Considerations for Private Practitioners on November 16th, 2018.

This event is open to non-members – share with other private practitioners in our field (SLP, OT, Counsellors, etc).

Cost: $50 (in person or webcast)

Please note that on-line registration will be closed a week before the event (Nov 9th). Limited on-site registration is available if capacity allows.

This will be a non-CEU event.

Chartered Accountants, from Avalon Accounting, who specialize in supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, will be presenting on a variety of topics for clinicians including bookkeeping, billing, expenses to deduct and other topics (sales tax, etc.).  They will also be available to answer any questions attendees may have.

Zoe Grams
ZG Communications

Zoe Grams is Principal of ZG Communications: a marketing agency dedicated to working with not for profits and socially conscious ventures. This presentation will describe the key tenets of effective marketing and answer commonly asked questions relating to promotional tools such as PR and social media. Participants will learn how to create a basic marketing plan for their business, and receive tips for enacting it.

McCourt Family Law and Mediation

Ms. Carla Lewis from Lewis McCourt Family Law and Mediation will be discussing issues related to client privacy, record keeping, and the ethics of practice in situations where family law is concerned. She will also discuss what should be included in a practitioner’s service contract, and when written consent forms are required. A variety of scenarios will be addressed during the presentation and attendee questions are encouraged.

Ever wonder how you may get the most out of Microsoft Excel? Brandy Peters will guide you through the steps for creating graphs and templates in this hands-on presentation.

Attendees:

  • Will be able to create graphs with phase lines that are embedded into the graph and move as they add data
  • Will be able to create chart templates
  • Will be able to create a graph using a chart template
  • Will be able to change the formatting of a graph using a chart template

The steps outlined are intended for people who use PCs (Excel 2013/2016) and Macs (Excel 2008, 2011, 2016).
