About the position: REACH Child and Youth Development Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Analyst to join our team at a Surrey respite house supporting 8-10 children and youth with complex behavioural and developmental needs. This role focuses on creating safe, structured, and nurturing environments where children can build skills, regulate emotions, and thrive. The Behaviour Analyst will design, implement, and monitor individualized behaviour support plans using evidence-based, trauma-informed, and child-centred practices. You will work closely with frontline staff, caregivers, families, and external professionals to ensure consistent, ethical, and effective support. REACH offers a supportive workplace with opportunities for mentorship and BCBA supervision. What you will do: • Conduct functional behaviour assessments (FBAs) • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behaviour support plans • Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to front line staff • Support proactive strategies for emotional regulation, skill-building, and positive behaviour • Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on data and clinical judgement • Collaborate with families, schools, therapists, and other service providers • Participate in care planning meetings, case reviews, and documentation • Ensure all practices align with ethical standards, child protection policies, and organizational values What you need to be successful: • BCBA Certification, or enrolment in a Master’s degree program with an approved course sequence for BCBA certification • At least 3 years experience working with children with autism • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills • Highly organized • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience with coaching Contracted Hours: • Approximately 20 hours per week (Tue, Wed, Thu 3 pm – 8 pm plus some Saturdays (2 consecutive Saturdays every 4 weeks) Rate of Pay • $50 - $75 per hour, depending on certification and experience Start date: March 2026

BEHAVIOUR CONSULTANT with BCBA Supervision Position Type:   Full Time Permanent and Term (12+ months) (37.5 hours weekly) Vacancies and Location: Port Alberni to Port Hardy and its vicinity - 1 vacancy Duncan to Parksville and its vicinity – 1 vacancy Penticton and its vicinity – 2 vacancies Kelowna and its vicinity – 1 term vacancy Vernon and its vicinity – 1 term vacancy The successful candidate will be supervised by a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst and must live in the areas of vacancy listed above. We would be open to starting the onboarding process using a virtual platform for a successful candidate from outside the region or province. MANDATE: To develop a function-based positive behaviour support plan, provide relevant training to support implementation, track progress, and provide ongoing monitoring. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Identify and assess the needs of the individual. • Apply behavior principles and procedures based on the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis to develop the Behaviour Intervention Plan(s). • An understanding of the framework of Positive Behaviour Support. Familiarity with Community Living BC Policy as it relates to Behaviour Support and Safety planning is an added asset. • Provides competency-based training to families, caregivers, and other personnel in order to augment their skills when supporting the individual directly. • Provides monthly reports of activities detailing hours spent with each client. • Keeps informed on current literature and research. • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, including CLBC. • Perform other duties as required. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE: • Masters degree (or enrolled/working towards a Masters degree) in Applied Behaviour Analysis, special education, psychology, or a related discipline. BCBA qualification is strongly preferred. • 2+ years of experience providing support to children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and/or other developmental disabilities is an asset. • Thorough understanding of the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis and the ability to communicate theories and principles effectively to families and other stakeholders. • Ability to conduct a functional assessment (indirect, direct, and experimental) and develop function-based interventions. • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills • Ability to work independently with good organizational and time management skills. • Class 5 Drivers license and a reliable vehicle with Business insurance and at least 3 million liability We offer a wonderful work environment, extensive extended health benefits, a dedicated team of professionals to work with, and BCBA supervision.
